Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is seeking an experienced Travel RN for the Operating Room to circulate across multiple surgical specialties in a hospital environment. The role requires an active Texas or Compact RN license, current BLS and ACLS, and travel nursing experience.

Expect to circulate gynecologic, general, orthopedic, podiatry, and ENT cases with rotating on-call and weekend duties. Onboarding is conducted onsite during orientation and may take several hours.

Qualifications

• Active TX or Compact RN license required at time of consideration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience preferred.
• PACU/recovery experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Skilled in circulating for gynecological, general, orthopedic, podiatry, and ENT procedures.
• Experience with blood/blood product administration, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, universal protocol, and wound management.

• Familiarity with cell saver equipment and emergency/fire safety protocols
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for circulating a wide range of surgical cases including gynecologic, orthopedic, podiatric, general, and ENT procedures
• Must complete onboarding modules onsite during orientation, typically averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
• Not accepting candidates residing in specific nearby Texas counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris)
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
