Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with 3+ years of OR experience and Level I or II trauma experience for a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical unit.

The assignment features day shifts (3x12hrs), starting Oct 12, 2026, for 13 weeks, with occasional floating and on-call duties. Pay is detailed with stipends and travel benefits; local candidates within 75 miles are welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, gynecologic, neurologic, plastic, urologic, and ENT procedures
• Support trauma cases such as amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and multi-trauma from MVAs
• Complete onboarding modules within the first week of assignment
• On-call responsibilities and weekend coverage as per unit needs

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with 3+ years of OR experience and Level I or II trauma experience for a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical unit.

Details

• Level 1 Trauma Center with a 41-OR unit
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts starting at 0645, with occasional starts at 0845 and 1045
• Occasional floating to night shifts, no more than 3 shifts per contract
• Floating to other UCH OR units as needed
• Weekend coverage required per unit needs
• On-call responsibilities of approximately 3 shifts per 8-week schedule period
• Cases include General, GU/GYN, Neuro, ENT, and Plastic surgery procedures

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
• Level I or II Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least one completed travel assignment required
• Experience circulating craniotomy cases required
• Skills required across General, GU/GYN, Neuro, ENT, and Plastic surgical specialties

Additional Information

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, gynecologic, neurologic, plastic, urologic, and ENT procedures
• Support trauma cases such as amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and multi-trauma from MVAs
• Complete all facility-specific onboarding modules within the first week of assignment
• Maximum of 10 RTO days per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks in September, October-November, and December 2026 through January 2027
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates who completed a prior full-year assignment at this facility must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Local candidates residing less than 75 miles from the facility are accepted

The $2,531 weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, corresponds to the higher end of this range. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
