Job summary

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. This position requires an Illinois license or active application, trauma and neuro unit experience, and a 12-hour day shift with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

The role involves nursing patients on a Neuro Medical Surgical Acute unit, including stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, and head injuries, with duties such as titrating heparin, reading telemetry, and rotating

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license or confirmed license application.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• NIHSS certification.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Experience on a dedicated neuro unit.
• Level 1 trauma experience.
• Previous travel experience (no first-time travelers).

Responsibilities

• Titrate heparin drips based on PTT.
• Troubleshoot high-flow oxygen devices (vents, CPAP, BiPAP).
• Read telemetry strips from Phillips monitors.
• Participate in unit-specific orientation.
• Float to general units as required in rotation with staff.
