American Traveler, LLC. is seeking aTravel RN for Med/Surg Telemetry in Towson, MD, working night shifts on a 13-week assignment. The role supports adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses, typically at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Requirements include active RN license (MD or Compact) with BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI; 2+ years MS/Tele RN experience; and travel and licensure reimbursements. Posted pay is $2,872 per week.

Qualifications

• Active MD or Compact RN license.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent MS/Tele RN experience.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting.
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pancreatitis, post-amputation care, small bowel obstruction, atrial fibrillation and dysrhythmias, cancer, and palliative care.
• Patient ratio is typically 1:5.
• Perform EKGs and manage drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and Lasix, which are not titratable but maintained within set parameters.
• Utilizes telemetry monitoring, monitor techs, IV pumps, oxygen, pulse oximetry, vital signs machines, SCDs, bed and chair alarms, chest tubes, and Foley catheters.
• Night shifts (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) are standard.
• Required to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays.
• Floating is required within the specialty and to lower acuity units as needed.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
• Collaborate with monitor techs and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position.
• Holiday coverage is required as scheduled.
