American Traveler is a leading travel nurse staffing company recruiting a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for Towson, Maryland. The role emphasizes night shifts, 2 years of experience, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI.

You will work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with CHF, chest pain, infections, and postoperative care. The assignment starts 01/12/2026 for 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week and nights.

Qualifications

• Active MD or compact RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and common cardiac medications required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit.
• Adult and geriatric patient population with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, chest pain, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pancreatitis, post-amputation, small bowel obstruction, Afib, cancer, and palliative care.
• Perform EKGs and manage drips (Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, Lasix) within set parameters.
• Use telemetry monitoring equipment, IV pumps, oxygen, pulse oximeters, SCDs, bed/chair alarms, chest tubes, Foleys, and vital signs machines.
• Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30).
• Required to work every other weekend and as scheduled on holidays.
• Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity units as neededMonitor Techs are utilized for telemetry support.
• No on-call responsibilities
• Care for a range of medical and surgical patients including those with complex cardiac and palliative needs
• Supportive team environment with access to monitor technicians
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Holiday coverage is required as scheduled
