Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg/Tele Float RN for a night shift in Missouri. Requires 2+ years of MS/Tele experience, active MO (or compact) RN license, BLS and ACLS, along with IV start and Telemetry certification. NIHSS preferred; EPIC experience strongly preferred.

The float pool covers medical, surgical, oncology, neuro and cardiology units with a 3x12 night schedule, 18:45–07:15. Travel perks include housing allowances, per diem and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• MO RN license required; compact license acceptable
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• IV start and Telemetry certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• EPIC charting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele Float position within a short term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for days and weekends, 1:6 for nights
• Floats to all Medical units, renal, oncology, neuro, surgical, and cardiology units
• Floats within assigned service line per facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Every other weekend required (or 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule) plus holiday rotation obligation
• Provide nursing care to medical, surgical, oncology, neuro, and cardiology patients as part of a float pool
• Float pool staff call a recorded line up to 1 hour before shift start to receive unit assignment
• Pre-assigned units will be communicated along with the timeframe for the assignment
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Free parking available
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
• No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Travelers may stay for an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break after that time
