Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele Float RN with a compact or PA license for a night shift float pool position in a hospital setting. The role requires at least 2 years of RN experience and experience with cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation.

The position uses a 3x12-hour night schedule (19:00–07:30) with every other weekend, no on-call, and a focus on Med/Surg and Telemetry units. Epic EMR experience is required, and travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Compact or PA) required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Skills in cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required.
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration required.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) preferred.
• Experience with pacemakers, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery care preferred.

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele Float position working within a hospital setting.
• Floats within scope to meet facility needs across Med/Surg and Telemetry units.
• Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:8 under a team nursing model.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.
• No block scheduling accommodations available.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide nursing care across Med/Surg and Telemetry units, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Preferred RTO of 5 days or less.
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted.
• Former Guthrie Healthcare System employees must be separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler.
• Approximately 4 hours of non-billable orientation modules required prior to start.
