Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital with Level I trauma capabilities. Nights, 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730, patient ratios 1:4-5, every other weekend with flexibility for more weekends. Travelers float within scope; RTO limited. Vaccination required.

Requires WA or compact RN license, BLS, Epic charting proficiency, and 2+ years of RN experience with Level II trauma background. UW/Harborview history notes may apply.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, line management, blood products, chest tube, tracheostomy care, cardiac monitoring, wound care.
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and heparin protocols.
• Two professional references (1 manager, 1 RN Charge or above).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Tele unit.
• Nights shift, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4-5.
• Every other weekend with additional weekends as needed.
• Travelers float within scope to meet facility needs.
• No block schedule accommodations.
• Respond to emergencies and monitor patients.
• Scrub color is a solid color; light blue scrubs supplied.

• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and heparin protocols required
• 2 professional references required (1 manager, 1 RN Charge or above)

• No on-call requirements
• Travelers will float within scope to meet facility needs and will be prioritized for floating
• No block schedule accommodations
• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Tele unit, including monitoring, line management, and emergency response
• Scrub color is any solid color; light blue scrubs also provided on unit
• RTO limited to no more than 6 days, with minimal RTO accommodated during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers accepted with strong clinical experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
• Previous UW/Harborview staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per every 2-week contract period
