Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 22-bed telemetry unit on night shift, requiring an active RN license (KY or compact) and BLS certification. Night shifts are 12-hour, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly, 0.9 FTE.

Assigned unit handles complex patients including CHF, stroke, ESRD, and post-op care. ADN/ASN with BSN preferred, ACLS/NIHSS required within 6 months of start. First-time travelers welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license KY or compact.
• Current BLS certification.
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required within 6 months of start.
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, and coordination across the nursing process.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with case management.
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs.
• Collaborate closely with an inter-professional care team to support a healing, patient-centered environment.
