Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital setting. Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with a patient ratio of 1:5 and telemetry monitoring.

Requires Active TX or Compact RN license, 2 years Med/Surg Tele experience, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and prior travel experience. Candidate must reside within 150 miles; lodging and meals are included. Excellent recruiter support and comprehensive benefits accompany this assignment.

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy and line management.
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and oxygen administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring.
• Care for patients requiring telemetry, post-angiogram cardiovascular care, and renal/hemodialysis management.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort per facility protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• 13-week assignment
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Cares for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, post-angiogram cardiovascular care, and renal/hemodialysis management
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Altera charting experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg Tele required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care
• Experience with heparin administration and telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and renal care management
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results
• Candidates should avoid CBD or other substances that could result in a positive drug screen after clearance
• Must reside within 150 miles of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Previous perm staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• Clinicians must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a plan in place
• First-time travelers are not preferred; prior travel experience required
