Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2+ years of current MS/Tele experience and a KY or compact RN license for a day shift hospital assignment.

Position requires BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications and strong IV, line care, respiratory, and cardiac monitoring skills. Travel and housing allowances may apply; candidates must live >75 miles away and be willing to work holidays.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (KY or compact) in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience
• IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care experience including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac drip management
• Wound care, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions
• Driver's license with address matching permanent address
• Two professional references: one charge or higher and one supervisor, within last year

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios 1:5 to 1:7
• Meditech EMR used, experience preferred
• Day shift schedule 7:00-19:30, 3x12 and 4x12 hours rotates
• Floating within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling not accommodated
• Care for cardiac telemetry, renal, neurological, and orthopedic patients
• Post-cardiac angiogram and post-MI patients care including sheath removal and TR Band care
• Provide care for CVA, post-TPA, and neurosurgery patients
• Flu vaccine required; exemptions considered case by case
• Must reside at least 75 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered with upfront presentation
• Must work major or minor holidays
• Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break before returning after a year
• First-time travelers may be considered based on specialty experience

• Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Travelers who have worked within the system must take a minimum 6-month break before returning after a one-year assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant specialty experience
