Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for night shift at a Level 1 Trauma Center teaching hospital in West Virginia. Requires 2+ years RN experience and WV or compact RN license. BLS/ACLS through AHA required, 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, and Cerner charting experience.

The position offers travel opportunities with housing allowance, competitive pay, and benefits. Flu vaccine is seasonally required; COVID vaccine not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Minimum 1+ years MS/Tele experience
• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Strong critical thinking skills and MS/Tele background

Responsibilities

• Work on a 37-bed MS/Tele unit with a diverse adult patient population
• All beds equipped for cardiac monitoring, ranging from uncomplicated to sub-critical conditions, including post-op transplant patients
• 1:5 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule (7pm-7am), weekdays with every other weekend required
• 36 or 48 hour contract options available
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
• 855 total staffed beds
• Royal blue/white scrub color required for RNs
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; not required outside this window
• COVID vaccine not required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of Vandalia Health System (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those within 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Free parking available for travelers in an attached parking garage
• Manager may accommodate blocked schedule requests depending on unit needs
