Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift position in a hospital setting, requiring Epic experience and a compact or TN RN license. You will provide direct patient care to oncology and medical-surgical patients, with responsibilities including chemotherapy monitoring and managing central/peripheral lines.

Night shift is 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15) with a 1:5 patient ratio; you may float to related units and will use Epic charting.

Qualifications

• Active compact or TN RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Epic experience within the last 18 months required and documented.
• Must pass Epic competency exam onsite (1 attempt).
• Travel experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, line care, and blood products.
• Oncology experience with chemotherapy monitoring preferred.
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP and tracheostomy care.
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience.
• Isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac.
• Two supervisory references required.
• SSN and DOB required.
• Must disclose all RTO at consideration; no post-approval RTO.
• Respirator fit testing requires clean-shaven.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a hospital setting.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15).
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• Float to other Med Surg/Tele units as needed.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide direct patient care to oncology and medical surgical patients.
• Monitor chemotherapy administration and manage central/peripheral lines.
• Participate in cardiac monitoring and rapid response situations.
• Orientations held every Monday.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• No block scheduling or special schedule requests accommodated.
• Floating expected unless otherwise specified.
• Return travelers must be indicated at time of consideration for staffing approval.
