Job summary
American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for Med/Surg Oncology on nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) in Colorado. This 13-week assignment requires 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license; Night shifts, 36 hours per week, 1:4 patient ratio, with floating to sister facilities.
You'll participate in chemotherapy administration and symptom management, with solid on-site support and a comprehensive travel package.
Qualifications
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) in hand.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience.
- Trauma Level II hospital experience.
- Experience with flexible staffing ratios.
- Oncology certification (OCN/ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required.
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred.
- Familiar with IV therapy, port access, central line care.
- Experience managing oncologic emergencies.
- Experience administering chemotherapy preferred.
- Familiarity with psychosocial and symptom management care.
- Wound care, phlebotomy, PPE/neutropenic precautions experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to inpatient oncology population, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management
- Monitor for and respond to oncologic emergencies and abnormal labs
- Support patients with psychosocial needs, including advanced directives and hospice care
- Administer medications including antiemetics, antibiotics, and antitumor agents
- Perform procedures such as chest tube care, colostomy/ileostomy management, and Foley catheter insertion
- Complete onboarding modules within the first week of assignment
- Maximum of 10 RTO days per 13-week contract, with blackout periods enforced during high-need timeframes
- Local candidates accepted, with reduced bill rate for those residing within 75 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift inpatient position requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or compact RN license.
- Inpatient oncology unit within a 36-bed hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), various days of the week
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 (day) and 1:5 (night), with flexibility based on staffing needs
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope, including to sister facilities based on facility needs
- Epic charting system used
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
