Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position in Illinois. The role requires an active IL RN license, BLS certification, and at least one year of relevant nursing experience in a Med/Surg unit.

The assignment runs 9 weeks with 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts, starting Sep 28, 2026, and may include weekend/holiday shifts. Epic charting experience is required.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted).
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience.
• ASN required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Skilled in IV access (peripheral, central line, PICC, and/or Infusaport).
• Experience with TPN administration, thrombolytic therapy, and blood glucose monitoring.
• Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Deliver bedside shift report and maintain updated patient communication boards for continuity of care.
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks assigned to health care technicians.
• Administer medications following the 5 Rights of medication administration.
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and promote positive outcomes.
