American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Neuro Registered Nurse for a hospital assignment in North Carolina. The role requires two years of RN experience, BLS, and NC or compact licensure, with Epic charting and telemetry experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; ACLS, CPI and NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience; neuro experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience and telemetry familiarity encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Care for neuro unit patients in a hospital setting.
• Patient population includes neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses.
• Night shift; 12-hour shifts (1845-0715); 3x12 schedule.
• May work 36 or 48-hour contracts; 13-26 week lengths.
• Floating to other units as needed; adhere to isolation precautions.
• Use Pyxis, SBAR, and Epic systems for medication and charting.
• Provide nursing care for neurological and cerebrovascular patients.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Neuro RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and BLS certification.

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Responsibilities

• Neuro unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes neuro surgical procedures and neuro diagnoses
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1845-0715), 3x12 schedule
• 36 or 48-hour contracts accepted, 13-26 week contract lengths
• 12-16 weekend shifts required per contract
• Floating required
• Uses Pyxis, SBAR, and Epic systems
• May be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or mass casualty incidents
• Provide nursing care for neurological and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) patients
• 2 orientation shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation
• Navy scrubs required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No RTO allowed during first week of assignment; up to 7 days of RTO auto-approved thereafter (excluding holidays)
• Former Novant/New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before reapplying and require facility approval
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed
• First-time travelers accepted
