Job summary
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical traveler assignment in Seymour, Indiana. The role requires 2 years of Med/Surg experience and BLS certification, with night shifts—3x12 hours—and a 13-week duration. Travel experience and Meditech skills are preferred to support high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position requiring 2 years of experience and BLS certification for night shift coverage.
- Medical Surgical unit setting with a 1:5 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6pm-6am
- Assignment length of 13 weeks
- Floating within scope required as needed to meet facility needs
- Active IN or compact RN license required in-hand prior to start
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- CMSRN or RN-BC certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Meditech charting experience strongly preferred
- Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and dysrhythmia management preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care across a variety of medical-surgical conditions including gastrointestinal, respiratory, genitourinary, neurological, and orthopedic cases
- Support for total joint replacement, ortho trauma, and surgical drain management
- Strong teamwork, self-direction, time management, and communication skills required in a fast-paced environment
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within an 80-mile radius
- Call-outs restricted to no more than one week of RTO
- Indicate holiday availability at time of consideration
- First-time travelers considered depending on experience level
- Completion of facility training modules required for clearance prior to start and annually
