Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Med/Surg RN with an active Illinois license and at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience for a day shift in a hospital setting, maintaining a 1:6 patient ratio. Floating is required and Epic charting is used for patient records.

The role supports daily patient care, monitoring, and rapid response to emergencies, with weekend work on a rotating basis and travel-friendly terms for first-time travelers.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license in hand.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS and CPI certifications preferred.
• Nursys report required (pulled within the last 2 weeks).

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM).
• Required to work every other weekend.
• Floating to different units as needed.
• Utilizes Epic charting system.
• Provides cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Interprets and manages dysrhythmias.
• Cares for telemetry, respiratory and tracheostomy patients.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Accepts local candidates at the same bill rate.
• Former UCM, PRN, or Ingalls permanent staff must have separated employment for at least 7 months before returning as a traveler.
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days.
• Non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) must be completed during orientation.
