Job summary

TotalMed RN in Madison, WI seeks a travel RN for Long Term Acute Care with a 13‑week assignment. The role is 36 hours per week on a nights shift, with travel requirements and LTAC experience preferred.

Immediate openings and tax‑free stipends may apply; BLS and ACLS are requested, and state licensure eligibility is required. The position emphasizes direct patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and discharge planning within an LTAC setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a Long-Term Acute Care setting or similar high-acuity unit.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS may be required for LTAC roles.
• Eligibility for Wisconsin state licensure or compact state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Perform head‑to‑toe assessments and respond promptly to condition changes.
• Administer IV medications, manage central lines, monitor vitals and labs.
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care and advanced wound management.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers on care plans.
• Support mobility, hygiene, and nutritional needs; assist admissions and transfers.
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs; ensure high‑quality patient care delivery.
• Uphold infection control standards and participate in rounds and handoffs.
• Document care accurately and in real time; contribute to discharge planning.
