Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department role in Colorado. The position requires CO or Compact licensure, 2+ years ER experience, and active BLS/ACLS/PALS/NIHSS/TNCC certifications. Expect float coverage across a multi-hospital zone with housing and travel perks.

The role features 12-hour night shifts, EPIC EMR charting, telemetry interpretation, and collaboration with RTs and support staff to deliver high-quality emergent care.

Qualifications

• Active CO state or Compact (NLC) RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required and active
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references: one supervisor within last 12 months and one peer or supervisor within last 3 years, with dates and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Acute care Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department setting
• Mixed ER holding area without separate psych/seclusion rooms
• Average of 40 patients per day with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 by acuity
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• RT available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
• Perform Point of Care lab testing
• Nurse technicians support unit secretary duties and triage
• Charge nurse assigns patient loads
• Use EPIC EMR for charting
• Night shift is 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float within Zone 3 across OrthoCO, Longmont United, St Anthony, and St Anthony North
• Provide ED nursing care to a wide range of acute and trauma patients
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, charge nurses, and support staff
• House housing secured for floating within full 60-mile zone
• In-state for orientation week, even if modules completed remotely
• First-time travelers may be considered
