Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN House Supervisor for an inpatient acute care setting. The role requires 5 years of RN experience and 2 years in House Supervisor duties, with CA RN licensure and BLS certification.

The position involves bed management, admissions, post-procedure and post-surgical care, and transfers to higher levels of care across ER, ICU, and MS/Tele units. Shifts are 3x12 or night shifts, with weekend rotation and cross-campus float coverage.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC).
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of House Supervisor experience required.
• Experience in ER, ICU, and MS/Tele settings required.
• Experience working with centralized and decentralized staffing models preferred.
• Skills in code management, crisis intervention, de-escalation, emergency preparedness, restraints, and rapid response preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines, risk management, and legal aspects of patient death documentation.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• 2 references from a supervisory role obtained within the past year required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient acute care setting covering bed management, new admissions, post-procedure, post-surgery, and transfers to higher levels of care.
• House Supervisor role overseeing ER, ICU, and MS/Tele units.
• 3x12 Day (0700-1930) or Night (1900-0730) shifts on a rotating basis as needed.
• Weekend rotation required.
• Float required as needed across multiple campuses within approximately 15 minutes of each other, with shuttle transport available.
• Schedule notification for float assignments provided 2 hours prior to shift start.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Oversee bed management, new admissions, post-procedure and post-surgical care, and patient transfers to higher levels of care.
• Apply clinical practice knowledge across Emergency Department, ICU, and MS/Tele specialties.
• Support internal and external disaster management protocols
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
• Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract, covering New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required
