Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery/Obstetrics in California. Requires active CA RN license and NRP certification; BLS also required. BSN preferred with acute care experience and a minimum of 2 years in obstetrics, recent within 3 months.

This 13-week contract features night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) in an obstetrics acute unit, with patient-centered care, teamwork, and discharge planning emphasized.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current BLS certification from an approved vendor required.
• Current NRP certification required.
• Acute care facility experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in obstetrics, with recent experience within the last 3 months.
• No prior adverse licensure actions permitted.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Obstetrics Acute unit of a hospital setting.
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• 13-week contract assignment.
• Deliver coordinated nursing care to an assigned patient or group of patients following established standards and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct nursing staff and coordinate care across disciplines.
• Collect and analyze patient data to determine diagnoses, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide safe, healing, and compassionate care.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide patient and family education alongside the treatment team.
