Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position in California. The role requires an active CA RN license and ACLS/NRP certification. BLS certification is also required, with BSN preferred.

The nurse will work a night schedule 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM in an acute care hospital, delivering coordinated care to labor and delivery patients, supervising staff, and coordinating with the care team. Vaccinations are required.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• BSN preferred.
• Acute care facility experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required, 3 months recent experience.
• No prior license hits accepted.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care hospital.
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 36-48 hours per week.
• Delivers coordinated nursing care to patients in labor and delivery.
• Supervises and directs activities of assigned nursing staff across various levels.
• Coordinates care with other disciplines using critical thinking and independent judgment.
• Collects and analyzes patient assessment data to determine diagnoses and care plans.
• Implements care plans, coordinates delivery, and evaluates patient outcomes.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare team to provide safe, humane care.
• Provides patient and family education and participates in discharge planning.
• Delegates duties appropriately among healthcare team members.
• No radius rule applies; local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates.
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will be automatically declined.
• Required to receive all vaccinations as a condition of employment.
