American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Spokane, WA. The role requires a WA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of L&D experience.

Responsibilities include 12-hour night shifts, care for high- and low-risk patients, 12-bed unit with 3 ORs, and 2 OB ER rooms. Epic EMR experience is required, with weekend rotations and on-call potential.

Qualifications

• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and EFM
• Surgical scrub role requires: BLS and CST
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Proficiency in IUPC, FSE, IV starts, and circulating C-sections
• Epic EMR experience

Responsibilities

• 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730); 36 hours per week
• 388-bed hospital with a Level 3 Trauma Center
• Labor & Delivery unit with 12 beds, 3 ORs, 2 OB ER rooms
• Care for high-risk and low-risk antepartum/intrapartum patients and newborns
• 1:1 for high-risk, 1:2 standard; follow AWHONN guidelines
• Centralized EFM and telemetry monitoring; Epic EMR used
• IV pumps (Baxter); Pyxis; GE/Centricity and Philips EFM
• Weekend rotation every other weekend; potential to float to Postpartum/NICU
• On-call for scheduled shifts with low census; one holiday may be required
• Orientation spans 2–3 shifts depending on competency
• Support from receptionist/HUC and charge RN; resources available
• Respiratory therapy support in NICU; hospitalist on staff
• RNs may perform phlebotomy; IV/VAT team on call if needed

• Patient ratios: 1:1 for high-risk patients, 1:2 standard; AWHONN guidelines followed
• Centralized EFM, telemetry EFM, and cardiac telemetry monitoring available
• EMR: Epic (required)
• IV pumps: Baxter; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Fetal monitoring: GE/Centricity and Philips EFM/tele
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• Floating may be required to Postpartum and NICU (Level 2 newborns)
• On-call only applies to scheduled shifts with low census call-offs
• One holiday may be required
• Manager interviews are conducted for this position
• Unit support includes a receptionist/HUC and charge nurse available 24/7; charge RN serves as resource nurse
• Respiratory therapy available in conjunction with NICU; hospitalist on staff
• RNs perform phlebotomy as needed; IV/VAT team available if needed
• Orientation consists of approximately 2–3 shifts, depending on individual competency and comfort
• Dark blue scrubs are required and provided by the hospital
• Free parking available in designated areas
