American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment in Ohio. Requires 2+ years of L&D experience and an active OH or compact RN license, plus BLS/ACLS/NRP and AWHONN Advanced credentials.

Strong Epic charting experience, IV therapy skills, and familiarity with blood products are essential. May float and must pass Ohio background checks. High-demand facility with 200-300+ births monthly.

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced).

• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; no coworker references accepted.

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases.

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with blood and blood product administration and venous blood draws
• Preferred skill: maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• High-volume facility with 200-300+ births per month
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Epic EMR experience required
• May be required to float
• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Experience with high-risk antepartum care preferred
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and baby catching
• Skilled in cord sample collection, ID/security banding, and use of radiant warmers
• Postpartum care including breastfeeding/lactation support, foley catheter management, and fundus/lochia/perineum care
• Experience circulating and recovering C-sections preferred
• Pain management experience including epidural anesthesia assessment
• Administer medications such as Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin
• Perform NSTs, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
• Fetal monitoring expertise required, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and spiral electrode placement
• IUPC placement and calibration experience preferred
• Experience with cervical cerclage and tubal ligation procedures preferred
• Must complete Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer, including lifetime background checks
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel assignments
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to start, limited to 7 days or less
