Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology/MRI RN for a 12-week assignment at a Magnet-designated hospital in Illinois. The ideal candidate holds an active IL RN license, Epic charting experience, and has Level 1 Trauma center experience.

Responsibilities include imaging support, patient education, and coordination with physicians and nurses. Shift pattern is 4x9-hour days, 40 hours weekly with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required.

Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology/MRI RN with an active IL RN license and prior Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience for a 12-week assignment at a Magnet-designated hospital.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (temporary license accepted)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Radiology/MRI department of a Magnet-designated hospital
• Provide patient education and preparation for imaging and procedures
• Collaborate with inpatient and ambulatory physicians and nurses to coordinate patient care
• Manage patient care during moderate sedation and Phase I/II anesthesia recovery
• Days shift schedule with 4x9-hour varied day shifts, 40 hours per week
• No weekend shifts and no holiday shifts required
• Minimal on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Recognize and respond to adverse or allergic reactions and changes in patient status
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
• Assist in maintaining equipment, supply inventory, and workplace safety
• Participate in QA/QC programs and support department policy updates
• Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert for staff and physicians
• May assist in instructing students and new staff
• May perform Charge RN/Supervisor or Imaging Coordinator duties in their absence
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service
