Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology RN for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Illinois. Active IL RN license and 1 year IR experience are required, with BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications. The role features a 4x10 hour day shift (6:30 AM–5:00 PM) and on-call obligations, with floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliates.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required and in hand at time of application.
• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards not accepted.
• SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Interventional Radiology unit within an acute care hospital setting.
• Level II Trauma center with 372 staffed beds.
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• On-call required one night per week, every 4th weekend.
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities.
• Uses Cerner charting system.
• Perform IR procedures including vascular studies, GI studies, neurological procedures, pulmonary studies, and genitourinary procedures.
• Skilled in procedural sedation monitoring, sheath removal, vascular closure devices, and radiation/laser safety.
• Experience with medications such as antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, thrombolytics, and reversal agents preferred.
• Scrubs provided for this role.
• Parking permit required at no cost, arranged during orientation.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction.
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler.
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days.
• Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays.
• Travel pairs are not accepted.
