Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology RN for a travel assignment in Billings, MT. The role requires IR experience, MT or compact RN licensure, on-call availability, and a 4x10-hour shift pattern (0700-1730) with rotating days off.

Work in an IR department with 2 suites, handling a daily census around 8, mostly adults with occasional pediatric cases. Opportunity includes comprehensive benefits and travel housing support.

Qualifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of IR experience.
• Comfortable managing moderate sedation and drip management.
• Skilled in foley catheter insertion, including for infants and pediatrics under sedation.
• Skilled in IV insertion.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Interventional Radiology department with 2 IR suites.
• Manage an average census of 8 patients per day.
• Provide care for mostly adult patients with some pediatric cases in MRI/CT (not IR).
• Assist with procedures including TIPS, Y90s, vertebral procedures, fistulograms, neph stents/tubes, peripheral run-offs, IVC filter placements, Pleurx, permacaths, PE, Angiojet, EKOS, coil/chemo embolizations.
• Support neuro procedures such as coil embolizations, thrombectomy, carotids, and MMA.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with required IR experience, on-call availability, and MT or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active RN license (MT state license or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of IR experience required
• Comfortable managing all patient types including moderate sedation and drip management
• Skilled in foley catheter insertion, including for infants and pediatric patients under sedation
• Skilled in IV insertion

Responsibilities

• Work in an Interventional Radiology department with 2 IR suites
• Average census of 8 patients per day
• Mostly adult patients, with occasional assistance for pediatric patients in MRI or CT (none in IR)
• Procedures include TIPS, Y90s, kyphos/vertebroplasties, fistulograms/declot, neph stents/tubes, peripheral run offs/interventions, IVC filter placements, Pleurx, trialysis/permacaths, PE, Angiojet, EKOS, and coil/chemo embolizations
• Neuro procedures include coil embolizations, thrombectomy, carotids, and MMA
• Uses Cerner EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, EKOS, Angiojet, and Siemens c-arms
• Shift schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, 0700-1730, with a rotating day off
• Weekend rotation is call only
• On-call required approximately every 5th-7th day, from end of last case until 0700 the next morning, with a 20-minute response time
• May float to other radiology areas such as CT or MRI to assist with procedures
• Provide nursing care across a range of IR procedures involving body and neuro specialties
• Supported by a team including Lead Tech/Charge RN, transporters, room turnover support, and management
• IR physician available onsite during the day and on call at night
• RT, Hospitalist, and Intensivist coverage available 24/7, along with Rapid Response/Code Team support
• Orientation includes facility-wide NEO plus 1-2 weeks of department-specific orientation
• Could be required to take call for up to 50% of holidays during the contract
• RTO requests must be approved through the manager
• Schedules are created one month at a time and released about two weeks prior to the start of the schedule
• Scrubs provided and free parking available
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
