Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Infusion unit in Illinois. The candidate must hold an active IL RN license and have experience with cell therapy patients, including pre- and post-transplant care.

The position is a travel assignment with day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM), 3x12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend requirements. Housing allowance and Day 1 benefits are included, with Nursys verification and provider card required.

Qualifications

Active IL RN license required in hand.
ONS immunotherapy provider card required.
Cell therapy experience preferred.
Less than 2 years of experience accepted.
Nursys report required, pulled within the last 2 weeks.
No license disciplinary actions or hits allowed.

Responsibilities

Outpatient infusion/cellular therapy unit with 5 treatment bays.
Cares for pre- and post-transplant cell therapy patients, often with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma.
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
Every other weekend required with no holiday coverage.
Agency nurses will not administer chemotherapy.
Administer research drugs and supportive therapies including hydration, electrolytes, blood transfusions, and IV antibiotics.
Perform patient assessment, monitoring, intervention, and education.
Perform IV placement, central line care, and lab draws and monitoring.
RTO limited to no more than 3 days, with none allowed during the first or last week of the contract.
Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate.
Former UChicago Medicine, PRN, or Ingalls permanent staff must have a 7-month break in service before returning as a traveler.
Any schedule or block scheduling requests must be submitted with the initial application and discussed during the interview.
