Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an ICU/CCU RN for a night shift contract in Illinois. The ideal candidate holds an active IL RN license, must have BLS/ACLS, and a minimum of three years of critical care experience. ASN is required; BSN is preferred.

You will work in a hospital CCU, handling complex cases with cardiac monitors, ventilators, and invasive monitoring, and chart patient care in Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience.
• ASN required, BSN preferred.
• Experience with ICU/CCU equipment and monitoring.
• Experience documenting care and interpreting hemodynamic data.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the CCU using the nursing process.
• 12-hour night shifts 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three days per week.
• Weekend coverage: 5 shifts in 6 weeks; holiday coverage as needed.
• Operate ICU/CCU equipment including monitors and ventilators.
• Document care in Epic EMR and communicate with the care team.

American Traveler is hiring an ICU/CCU RN for a night shift contract requiring at least three years of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.

Requirements

• Active Illinois state RN license in good standing
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Experience with specialized ICU/CCU equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, respirators, and oxygen pumps
• Experience documenting nursing care and interpreting electronic displays for intracranial and central venous pressures

Responsibilities

• Work in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of a hospital setting
• 12-hour night shifts from 1900-0730, three days per week
• Weekend commitment of 5 shifts within a 6 week period
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other (EO) basis
• Uses specialized equipment including cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, and oxygen pumps
• Monitors intracranial pressures and central venous pressures
• Works with ventilated patients to support early mobility
• Epic EMR charting required
• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
• Performs hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and whiteboard communication with patients and families
• Collaborates with the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and prepares equipment for physician exams and treatments
• Responds to life-saving situations according to established nursing standards and protocols
• Offers peer feedback and participates in ongoing professional development
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Travelers may not work continuously at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
