Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T unit in Illinois. Requires active IL RN license, BSN, and 2+ years ICU experience (4 years preferred). ACLS, BLS, and Chemotherapy Certification are required; OCN is a plus.

Night shifts are 3x12 hours (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with every third weekend, 24-hour orientation, Pyxis/EPIC use, SBAR communication, and no on-call requirements. Travel and housing allowances provided.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• BSN is required.
• 2 years ICU experience required, 4 years preferred.
• ACLS, BLS (AHA) and Chemotherapy Certification are required.
• OCN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T patients in a high-acuity ICU.
• Work on a Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T unit with 15 beds and 1:4 patient ratio.
• Night shift 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; every third weekend.
• Float to Med/Surg as needed; no on-call requirements.
• Uses Pyxis and EPIC for documentation; SBAR communication; 24-hour orientation provided.
• Pewter-colored scrubs required; flu vaccine or declination; local candidates within 75-mile radius at local rate.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T unit, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration, no pending licenses or EMSA accepted
• BSN required
• 2 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA only, HeartCode not accepted), Chemotherapy Certification
• OCN certification preferred
• Required skills: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, emergency medication administration, titration of cardiac drips, assisting with BiPAP/CPAP management, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patients, HFNC, interpretation of ABGs, suctioning (ETT, NT), ventilator management, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE use, and phlebotomy
• Preferred skills: IV insulin protocols, accessing ports, starting IVs, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, chemotherapy administration, and surgical wound care with drains/wound vac
• Stem cell transplant experience a plus but not required

• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every third weekend required
• Float to Med/Surg required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Pyxis medication system and EPIC for documentation
• SBAR communication method used
• Provide direct patient care to Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T patients in a high-acuity ICU setting
• 24-hour orientation provided on the unit
• Pewter-colored scrubs required (not provided)
• Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
• No RTO permitted for 12/24-12/25 or 12/31-1/01
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at local rate
