Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an Advanced Care/EMU unit in Illinois. The ideal candidate holds an IL license, has at least three years of nursing experience, and demonstrates strong charting and trauma experience.

This travel assignment features day shifts, 12-hour shifts, no on-call, no floating, and a structured 6-week schedule with weekend and holiday rotations. Epic is the charting system used, with generous housing and licensure reimbursements

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience.
• ASN required, BSN preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Level 1 Trauma experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Advanced Care/EMU unit of a hospital setting.
• Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity.
• Works alongside critical care team and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients.
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week.
• No on-call requirements.
• No floating required.
• 5 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period.
• Every other holiday coverage required.
• Epic charting system used.
• Responsible for a designated group of patients, performing assessments, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions.
• Utilizes meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to maintain communication with patients and families.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation.
• Reports and corrects safety hazards and incidents.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract.
• Contingent workers may not be continuously on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system without a 6-month break in service.
