Open to ICU RNs with recent critical care experience; GA license, BLS, and ACLS are preferred. Housing support, licensure reimbursements, and per diem options are offered as part of travel assignments.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of critical care experience in ICU or similar setting.
• Active RN license as required by Georgia.
• BLS certification from AHA.
• ACLS certification from AHA (may be required).
• Specialty certifications are preferred.
• Professional references available upon request.

Responsibilities

• Care for critically ill patients in ICU, post-op and other intensive care units.
• Educate and support patients and families, including care planning and discharge needs.

Requirements

• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA recommended and may be required

Responsibilities

ICU nurses specialize in treating critically ill patients in general intensive care units, post-op units, burn units, and other specialized, intensive care units. Most Critical Care travel positions are in hospitals, but ICU RNs can choose from many different subspecialties. Some rehabilitation facilities also use critical care nurses because of their skills with ventilators and tracheostomy tubes. An important function of Critical Care nurses is to provide education and support to patients and their families.
