Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) for Chico, CA. The role includes assisting surgeons, conducting pre/postoperative assessments, and maintaining sterile conditions in the operating room.

Travel package available with a defined hourly rate, lodging stipend, and referral bonuses. Shifts are 8-10 hours, 40 hours/week, with alternating weekends. Active California RN license and CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

• Active CA State Registered Nurse License is required.
• Minimum of one year related work experience within the last 3 years.
• Valid BLS / ACLS / CPR certifications are required.
• CNOR certification may be required.
• Additional certifications may be required.
• Copy of PSV from licensing board if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunizations, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures by providing direct support with surgical instruments, equipment, and patient positioning.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative patient assessments and provide appropriate nursing care.
• Maintain a safe, sterile surgical environment and follow infection prevention and surgical safety protocols.
• Monitor the patient’s condition throughout the procedure and communicate changes to the surgical team.
• Assist with wound care, closure, hemostasis, and other surgical tasks within the RN’s scope of practice.
• Document patient care, procedures, and outcomes and collaborate with the surgical team.
