Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring a Colorado or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ED experience.

Responsibilities include working in a hospital ED, 12-hour night shifts (3 days/week), potential float to other departments, and on-call duty. Epic charting used for documentation and nursing care provided per standards.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in Colorado or compact license required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required, must not expire prior to start
  • ACLS, NRP, and/or PALS certification required as appropriate for the unit or service
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the Emergency Department specialty required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
  • May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need
  • May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
  • Uses Epic for clinical documentation
  • Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, including ongoing collection and assessment of health data
  • Provide patient and family health teaching and counseling
  • Deliver therapy and treatment directly to patients or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others
  • Refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed
  • Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans
  • Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
  • Former permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for this travel assignment
