Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift in the Emergency Department at a high-acuity trauma and stroke center in Texas. You will care for adult and pediatric patients in a regional Advanced Cardiac hospital setting.

This full-time, 13-week travel assignment requires TX or compact RN licensure and TNCC, with BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. Night hours are 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with orientation and preceptorship to support new travelers.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TX or compact must be current.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of emergency nursing experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the full nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation).
• Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Address psychosocial, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers as needed.
• Complete new nurses orientation within first 30 days for newly hired experienced RNs.
• Precepted by trained staff with competency validation in the ED.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring TX or compact RN license and TNCC certification at a high-acuity trauma and stroke center.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Care unit of a hospital
• Treat adult and pediatric patients in a designated Stroke, STEMI, Trauma, and Resuscitation center
• Regional Advanced Cardiac hospital with high acuity patient population
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Full-time, 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or compact
• BSN preferred
• 1 year of experience in emergency nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current PALS certification required (AHA only)
• Current TNCC certification required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side-effects and effectiveness
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Complete New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire for newly hired experienced RNs
• Precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation specific to the Emergency Department
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Previous CHRISTUS Health employees must have a 6-month separation period before starting a new travel assignment
