• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely, high-quality care.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license and prior ER nursing experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital emergency department with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• 18-week assignment with every other weekend required (12 weekend shifts per contract)
• No on-call requirements
• May be required to float to a sister facility within the same health system
• Meditech charting system used, with Epic experience preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, CPI (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Preferred experience: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, ABG interpretation, IV sedation, vasopressors, procedural sedation, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and neuro‑trauma care (CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, TBI)
• Preferred setting experience in Level I/II Trauma Centers, teaching hospitals, community hospitals, LTAC, pediatric ED, and STEMI/Stroke certified facilities
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency department nursing care across general adult/pediatric ER cases, including trauma, cardiac, neuro, and orthopedic presentations
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Free parking available on-site
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted, though at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel rate
