Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night travel assignment in North Carolina.

Must hold NC or compact RN license, with STEMI and Stroke facility experience, and EPIC EMR proficiency. Shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with occasional 3:00 PM–3:30 AM.

Candidates should be able to float to Cone Health campuses, meet compliance exams, and maintain high-quality trauma and acute care nursing.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• STEMI and Stroke facility experience required.
• EPIC charting system experience required.
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed.
• Current driver's license required for address verification.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department setting caring for all patient ages.
• Patient population includes cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health cases.
• Hospital specialties include cath lab, women's health, and stroke care.
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility.
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, with occasional 3:00 PM-3:30 AM shifts as needed.
• Up to every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed.
• No on-call requirements.
• Floating to any Cone Health campus as needed.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute and trauma-related conditions.
• Preferred experience includes teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings.
• Preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, ABG interpretation, central line care, IV sedation, vasopressor administration, and procedural sedation monitoring.
• Preferred experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.
• Preferred experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and pediatric head injury or near drowning.
• Preferred skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and ortho trauma care.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local rates apply
• RTO must be submitted with the application.
