American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an RN-Apheresis in North Carolina to perform therapeutic apheresis procedures within a Transfusion Medicine Service setting. The role requires at least one year of nursing experience and an NC or compact RN license.

The position offers a day shift schedule (7a–3:30p), 40 hours weekly, with on-call every 4th weekend and one on-call night for emergent cases. Benefits and travel considerations are included.

Qualifications

• Active NC RN license (Standard or Compact).
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Nursing diploma/ADN/ASN from an accredited program required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic apheresis procedures in Transfusion Medicine Service.
• Supports renal, pulmonary, and BMT patient programs.
• Treats adult and pediatric patients in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Access involves ports; some peripheral access may be required.
• Primary equipment is the Optia apheresis system.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Transfusion Medicine Service unit performing therapeutic apheresis procedures including plasma exchange, red blood cell exchange, and HPC stem cell collections
• Supports renal, pulmonary, and BMT patient programs
• Treats both adult and pediatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Majority of patients are accessed via ports, with some peripheral access required
• Primary equipment used is the Optia apheresis system
• Day shift schedule, 7a-330p, 40 hours per week
• On-call required every 4th weekend, including one on-call night, for emergent cases when clinic is closed
• Clinic is closed on weekends and holidays except for on‑call emergent cases
• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional nursing standards
• Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Performs bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participates in discharge planning and patient/family education
• Engages in performance improvement activities and unit goal development
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure healthcare environment
