Job summary

Talented-Medical-Solutions is looking for an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) to join an Open Heart Surgery team on a 13-week travel assignment. You will work 40 hours per week on 10-hour shifts, delivering perioperative cardiovascular nursing care.

As a Travel RN - CVOR, you will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure patient safety, proper preparation, and adherence to protocols throughout preop, intraop, and postop care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Recent CVOR/open heart surgery experience.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular perioperative nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular/open-heart procedures.
• Prepare the operating room, equipment, and instruments.
• Assist with patient positioning and intraoperative care.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection-prevention standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and techs.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes or emergencies.
• Document accurately and follow surgical protocols.
• Contribute to preoperative and postoperative patient care.

What You’ll Do

As a CVOR RN, you'll be an essential member of the cardiovascular surgical team, providing expert nursing care throughout the perioperative process.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures

Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and surgical instruments

Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, and intraoperative care

Maintain strict sterile technique and infection-prevention standards

Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, surgical technologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team

Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes or emergencies

Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to surgical protocols

Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care as required

Promote patient safety throughout the surgical experience

What We’re Looking For

Active RN license in the applicable state

Current BLS ,ACLS certification

Recent CVOR/Open Heart Surgery experience

Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and perioperative nursing practices

Excellent critical-thinking and clinical assessment skills

Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-acuity surgical environment

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Commitment to maintaining patient safety and the highest standards of care
