Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of cath lab experience and Trauma Level II experience for a 14-week day shift assignment. The role requires active KY or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NIHSS certifications, and references.

Responsibilities include conducting diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, structural heart interventions, and managing sedation. On-call duties and potential floating to EP Lab are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Active KY or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years cath lab experience required (1 year acceptable with Level I + ICU).
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I preferred.
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including ASD closures, stent placement, TAVR, valvuloplasty.
• Experience with VAD insertion and Watchman procedure preferred.
• Skilled in circulating procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation, and procedural sedation.
• At least one professional reference required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cath Lab for diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Day shift schedule: 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM.
• Procedures include diagnostic/interventional catheterizations and implants; hemodynamics; conscious sedation.
• On-call required with a 30-minute callback time; rotate late shifts and weekends.
• Floating to EP Lab as needed and may float within hospital or to nearby affiliate.
• Circulate procedures, manage dysrhythmias, and administer/monitor procedural sedation.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN with 2 years of cath lab experience and Trauma Level II experience required for a 14-week day shift assignment.

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required (1 year acceptable if combined with Level I structural procedure and ICU experience)
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including ASD closures, cardiac implant closure devices, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization, TAVR, and valvuloplasty
• Experience with ventricular assist device insertion and Watchman procedure preferred
• Skilled in circulating procedures, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, and monitoring procedural sedation
• Experience administering and monitoring procedural sedation medications
• At least one professional reference required for consideration

Responsibilities

• May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Responsibilities include circulating procedures, managing dysrhythmias, and administering/monitoring procedural sedation
• Candidates must not reside within 75 miles of the facility to be considered for this role
• Previous UK-affiliated permanent staff must have a 6-month gap before returning as a traveler
• Any requested time off must be disclosed prior to offer, as later requests will not be approved
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
