Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Electrophysiology (EP) Lab position in Charlottesville, VA.

Requires 2+ years EP experience, VA or compact RN license, ACLS/BLS certifications, Epic charting, and a BSN preferred. Day shift with a 4x10 schedule and on-call duties. Travel and benefits available for travel-ready RNs.

Qualifications

• Active VA or compact RN license is required.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required; PALS preferred.
• Two+ years of EP nursing experience is required.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred.
• Experience with EP procedures including cardiac ablation, AICD insertion, pacemaker insertion, LAA closure and Watchman procedure is required.
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including TEE, lead extraction and vascular closure devices.
• Experience with antiarrhythmic, emergency and procedural sedation medications is required.
• Competency in 12-lead EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management is required.
• Two professional references are required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and Pediatric EP Lab.
• Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio.
• Work day shift on a 4x10 hour schedule (0700-1730).
• Be on-call for 1-2 Saturdays (0700-1200) within a 6-week schedule, plus 1 holiday on-call yearly.
• Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays.
• Floating within scope of practice as needed.
• Use Epic EMR.
• Provide direct patient care in the EP Lab, including arrhythmia induction, cardioversion and sheath removal/monitoring.
• Perform radiation and laser safety procedures and manage vascular closure systems.
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions per hospital protocol.
• Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed prior to submission.
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to coordinate an appropriate start date.
• Former UVA permanent staff or internal/external travelers must have at least 1-year separation plus leadership approval before returning.
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days with the facility.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
