Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an EP Lab Technologist for an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS/ACLS certification. The role covers EP studies, cardiac catheterization, and interventional radiology procedures, with emphasis on sterile technique and infection control.

Candidates must hold a current state license where applicable and Epic charting experience. The assignment includes 4x10 hour day shifts, on-call coverage, travel between assignments, and potential magnet

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Two+ years of experience in EP/Cath Lab settings preferred.
• Active state license required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Work in Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab, and Interventional Radiology settings.
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (STEMI response, IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, TAVR, PFO, Mitral Clip).
• Support interventional radiology procedures (lines, drains, embolizations, angiography, stroke thrombectomy).
• Chart in Epic and maintain sterile technique.
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with some Saturdays; on-call 6-8 PM.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an EP Lab Technologist for an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS/ACLS certification.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Valid state license required if applicable
• Experience with EP studies including arrhythmia induction, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, conduction studies, pacemaker insertion, and AICD insertion/programming preferred
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures such as diagnostic catheterizations, hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac stent placement, and TAVR preferred
• Experience with vascular studies/procedures including angioplasty, carotid stenting, and endovascular interventions preferred
• Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control practices
• Epic charting experience required

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and Interventional Radiology setting
• Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, STEMI response, IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, and structural heart interventions (PFO, TAVR, Mitral Clip)
• Also supports interventional radiology procedures including lines, drains, embolizations, upper/lower extremity angiography, fistulas, visceral angio/intervention, and stroke thrombectomy
• Involvement in neurointervention and CRM device implants
• Preferred experience with CTO, peripherals, venous access, rhythm interpretation, Philips X-ray systems, atherectomy and thrombectomy devices, and temporary LVAD support
• Charting completed in Epic
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including some required Saturdays as part of the regular schedule
• On-call coverage required from 6-8pm on days when staff leave for the day
• May float within scope to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Perform procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring, equipment set up, EKG lead placement, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Scrub and maintain sterile field for various cardiac, vascular, and radiological procedures
• Facility is a Magnet, Level II Trauma hospital recognized as a top hospital in the state
• Scrubs provided
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Must be willing to work 2 of the following 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers are limited to a maximum of 1 calendar year per assignment, followed by a required 6-month break before returning to the same facility
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Facility only accepts Hep B vaccination records, not titers or declinations
