Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting in California. The role requires a CA RN license and at least two years in case management and discharge planning, with Epic EMR experience.

The position is travel-friendly with day shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), patient loads, holiday coverage, and per diem/travel pay nuances. Strong regulatory knowledge and references are essential for compliance and assignment success.

Qualifications

Active CA RN license required; pending license accepted if licensed by start date.
Minimum 2 years of acute care case management and discharge planning experience.
Hospital experience required; behavioral health experience does not qualify.
Experience with Epic EMR required.
Must be an experienced traveler; first-time travelers will not be considered.
Must provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years.
Must provide full SSN and DOB for compliance.

Responsibilities

Review admission criteria, benefits eligibility, and care coordination.
Coordinate discharge planning and disease management.
Develop plan of care and obtain prior authorizations.
Ensure regulatory compliance (CMS, Joint Commission, DRG, National Safety Goals).
Support clinical areas including ED, ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Surgical Services.
Work 3 of 5 major holidays; day shift 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
