Job summary

Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a traveling RN Case Manager for a 13-week assignment at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA. The role focuses on discharge planning, utilization review, and coordination of care for acute-care patients.

Ideal candidates hold an active Massachusetts RN license with 3+ years of acute-care or case-management experience and familiarity with InterQual. BSN and CPUM are preferred; travel benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license is required.
• Minimum 3 years of acute-care hospital or case-management experience within the past 5 years.
• Recent discharge-planning and utilization-review experience within the past 4 years.
• Working knowledge of InterQual or a comparable system.
• Strong knowledge of payer and regulatory requirements.
• BSN preferred.
• Case Management, CPUM or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screen new admissions daily for discharge-planning needs.
• Complete identified initial assessments within one business day.
• Document initial assessments and continued-stay reviews using InterQual.
• Reassess patients approximately every three days or when circumstances change.
• Determine inpatient vs observation level of care and perform utilization review.
• Coordinate discharge appeals and explain adverse coverage decisions.
• Communicate clinical information to third-party payers.
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team during rounds and conferences.
• Develop safe discharge plans and coordinate transfers to facilities.
