American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool position with ICU and extensive cardiac duties across multiple units in Illinois. The role features a day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and requires flexibility to float to Medical Surgical when needed.

The nurse will implement care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification.

Responsibilities

• Float pool position covering Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU units.
• Day shift schedule from 7:00A to 7:30P.
• Must be willing to float down to Medical Surgical when needed.
• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing standards and policies.
• Develops and executes individualized patient plans of care in coordination with physicians, including patient and family education.
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
• Provides clinical expertise and guidance to other units in support of patients' longitudinal care plans.
• Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and escalates concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
