American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab travel position in Wisconsin. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of Cath Lab experience and WI or compact RN licensure. Candidates must hold BLS/ACLS certification, with NIHSS preferred.

The lab handles diagnostic and interventional cases with 1:1 patient ratios, shift options, and call requirements. A Level III Trauma Center setting offers comprehensive support and benefits.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in WI or compact jurisdiction.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of recent Cath Lab experience.
• Experience with Cath Lab and peripheral procedures.
• Conscious sedation and drip titration/management skills.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within last year from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge RN.
• Covid vaccine required.

Responsibilities

• Fast-paced, 24/7 high-acuity Cardiac Cath Lab performing 24-40 cases daily.
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases.
• Cases include diagnostic and interventional procedures, RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, Cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, and Impella.
• Also performs peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases, including some fistulograms.
• Hybrid cases include AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, and Watchman procedures (experience preferred but not required).
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Shift options include 8-hour shifts (0600-1430, 1100-1930, 1200-2030) and 12-hour shifts (0600-1830) to meet 40 weekly hours
• Call required on a rotating basis, approximately 7 days of call every 2-3 months, with 30-minute response time
• Call shift is 1200-2030, with call coverage running from end of shift until 0600 the following morning
• Possible weekend coverage depending on department caseload
• Possible holiday coverage may be required
• Located in a Level III Trauma Center with Level III NICU, Magnet designation, and Comprehensive Stroke Center status
• Permanent staff monitor cases during procedures
• Unit supported by housekeeping, storeroom staff, transporters, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and in-house cardiology coverage 24/7
• Critical Response Team available for codes as needed
• One week of orientation provided
• Scrubs provided and free parking available
• Facility follows a fatigue policy limiting staff to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
• Typically does not require travelers to work holidays
• Up to 7 days of requested time off can be approved
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for this travel position
