Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in North Carolina. Requires 2 years of cath lab experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

The role includes 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), every other weekend, and entails medication administration, patient care documentation, and coordination with the care team for transfers and discharges. Loyalty bonuses and travel benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• 2 years of experience required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab unit.
• Monitor and document patient conditions and vitals.
• Administer medications and perform plan of care interventions.
• Assist with specimens collection and clinical treatments.
• Collaborate with care team for transfers, discharges and referrals.
• Provide education to patients and families tailored to age and culture.
• Support brain, cancer, heart, lung, orthopedics and Level 3 NICU services.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Cath Lab unit within a 355-bed acute care hospital
• Averages 5-15 cases per day
• 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
• Documents patient care and monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient transfer, discharge, and referral needs
• Provides patient and family education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients
• Facility includes specialty centers for brain, cancer, heart, lung, orthopedics, and a Level 3 NICU
• Must start orientation on one of the designated 2026 start dates
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any Lifepoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
