American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift at a critical access community hospital in Vermont. The role requires 2+ years of RRT experience, NBRC RRT credential, BLS, and Vermont license if applicable. Cerner EMR experience is required.

Responsibilities include managing ventilators, ABG draws, PFTs, and airway management, with independent work and no on-call requirements. Travel experience and a valid vehicle are preferred.

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a critical access community hospital, requiring 2+ years of RRT experience and critical access/rural hospital background.

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC required; CRTs will not be considered
• Minimum 2 years of current RRT experience required
• Critical access, community, or rural hospital experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Vermont RRT license required if applicable
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision
• Experience with invasive/non-invasive ventilation, ABG draws, and airway management including assisting with intubations
• Willingness to learn new skills such as home sleep testing and Pulmonary Rehab
• At least 6 months of previous travel experience highly preferred
• Must have own vehicle
• Supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment required

Responsibilities

• Critical access community hospital setting with 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
• Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift, three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, with holidays as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Must work independently with vents, various PAP modalities, Hi-flow O2, and perform PFTs
• Weekend shifts are worked alone
• Sets up and operates various respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease under the supervision of the Technical Director of Respiratory Therapy
• Functions independently and may face varying degrees of problems to solve across patient care areas
• Dress code is business casual or personal scrubs of any color
• Non-billable orientation of 8 hours
• No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted, and requests must be submitted prior to consideration
• Travelers may not take all holidays off and must work one full holiday block if scheduled (Christmas Eve through the day after Christmas, or New Year's Eve through the day after New Year's Day)
• Facility enforces a 3-strike rule for call-offs, with contract termination eligible after 3 call-offs
• Call-offs must be communicated to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
