American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift at a teaching hospital in Columbus, OH. The role requires Ohio RRT license, active BLS, and 2+ years of experience. Orientation includes 3x12 hour shifts, weekend work, and potential campus travel.

Responsibilities include ventilator management, airway care, ABG interpretation, and administration of respiratory meds. Residents and locals welcome; references and fingerprinting may be required by the facility.

Qualifications

• Active BLS certification is required.
• Active RRT certification (CRT acceptable in lieu of RRT, not both).
• Active Ohio State RRT license required in hand at time of consideration.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• High school diploma or official transcripts required.
• 2 professional references: 1 manager/director or supervisor, 1 charge RN or higher.

Responsibilities

• Work in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week.
• Weekend shifts required.
• Floating between campuses may be required.
• Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, weaning, and high pressure alarm troubleshooting.
• Airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
• Administers a wide range of respiratory medications including bronchodilators, steroids, and inhaled agents.
• Interprets Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs).
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Locals accepted at the same rate.
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility.
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system.
• RTO must be requested at time of submission and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less.
• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon signing contract; candidates within driving distance must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location, while those farther away will complete a mailed fingerprinting packet.
